Iran’s overseas ministry has declared the victory of “multilateralism and peace”, because the UN’s ten-year arms embargo ended on October 18, regardless of Washington’s stress to reimpose sanctions.
“As of at this time, all restrictions on the switch of arms, associated actions and monetary providers to and from The Islamic Republic of Iran, and all prohibitions concerning the entry or transit by way of territories of the United Nations Member States beforehand imposed on various Iranian residents and army officers, are all robotically terminated,” Iran’s Overseas Ministry mentioned in an announcement on midnight October 18.
“A momentous day for the worldwide group, which— in defiance of malign US efforts—has protected UNSC Res. 2231 and JCPOA,” Overseas Minister Javad Zarif added in a tweet.
